Prayer is Your Missionaries Greatest Need! August, 2012
Our Retired Missionaries – several of them still get some financial support from our Church
Virgil and Dolores Bunjer, Baptist Mid-Missions, now living at Ottumwa, IA, (GermanChurch Planters)
The car battery problem is apparently fixed. Now it is the lawn mower, but Virgil says because of the drought they aren’t missing it at all while it is at the shop. Praise the Lord for 8 decisions at summer camp in Germany. Pray for long-range fruit in these young lives. Jim and Sarah Engle are appointees to Germany.Theyneed $2714 in monthly support to come in soon so they can be part of the new church-planting team of the IngolstadtChurch.
Louis and Bernice Miller, retired builders, living at Manning need our prayers and encouragement. Contact them: c/o The Manning Plaza, 410 Main St.Manning, IA51455, or e-mail plazaresident@mrhcia.com , and put in the subject line: Louis and Bernice Miller.
Allen and Marilyn Adler, Native American ministry, Townsend, MT report that the missions’ conference in Ontario was a blessing. Both Allen and Marilyn had a part in it. Especially thrilling was that the Moir family who are going to Kenora, Ontario were able to attend and then stop by the Adlers. Sean Moir and Allen visited pastors in the western part of Montana and several deputation meetings have been set up. The Moirs need half their support yet. Right now, Allen and Marilyn are filling in for a missionary to the Native Americans in Winslow, Arizona. They return to MT the end of this month.

Missionaries We Support With Prayer
Lars and Phyllis Wessberg– Missionary Evangelism with C.O.M.E.
Steve and Kelley Frerichs, Church Planters in Lima, PeruExciting things have been happening at Kelley’s Wed. afternoon Bible Study. Praise the Lord that young Christians are reading the Bible and sharing it with friends. A horrible car accident took the mom of Joseph’s best soccer friend. Pray for the boy’s salvation. Praise God that when the church signed up to pray all through the night, a young couple’s tiny baby’s recovery from pneumonia made a Dr. say: It was like “magic.”Thank God that Giorman accepted Christ. And praise God that the Church attendance has jumped from 55 to 65, up to 80 to 90!
Stephen and Cathy King returned from Scotland where they got acquainted with co-workers/ministry.
One more follow-up report came back on Stephen: His cancer had returned with a spot on his liver. He has had several chemos, and next week he will undergo surgery at Duke with Dr. Clary. Heather, their daughter, is eligible for hospice but remains in Palliative Care in stage 4 heart failure. Pray for her family (husband and 3 young children). Stephen and Cathy have yet to tell Heather about her father’s treatments. Pray for continued rebuilding for Cathy, opportunities to share with folk at the hospital, and for the Kings to get to Scotlandwhere they feel God is still leading them – although their detour has become a long one.
Blane and Kelly Barfknecht family, Church Planters with BCP, ChalcoHillsBaptistChurch in the Omaha area of NE Check out the website: www.chalcohillsbaptist.com There has been a second baptismal service. VBS was a thrill with a high attendance day of 40. A new couple has joined the Wed. Bible Study. Pray for their salvation. Support from individuals, a local church, and the new church itself has been growing, so the Barfknechts have not aggressively sought deputation meetings. They are at 30% of their need, but Blanecontinues to work a regular job also. Bill and Stephanie Wilson will be joining as associate church planters. Pray for their transition to Omahaover the next year. A property that has been desirable to build on is now up for sale at $100,000 under assessed value! Pray for wisdom about setting out to purchase the land as the future site for Chalco Hills Baptist Church.

Classes are underway and going well in the new semester. Pray for students who are trying to pay off the rest of the past semester so they can return to seminary.
The James Taylors (www.taylors4brazil.blogspot.com) in BrazilAsk God to open Luiz and Jennifer’s eyes to the Gospel. The couple has visited services. Pray that the Taylorscan find a home to buy by the time James’ brother and family return from furlough. There is an ideal house available to buy, but the Taylorswould need to borrow $25,000. They are trying to think of where and how they can go about this.

The Boydsto Colombia with ABWE Visit:www.BoydHome.comThemen’s meetings continue! The conference for women was very successful. Pray the Lord will draw these individuals to himself. The Medina Villa family, teammates in the ministry will travel to the U.S.to present their ministry. Mark and Leslie Boyd and family, Missionaries to Germany– have moved into their apartment. A group of people showed up to help, so now it’s a matter of sorting and organizing.
